Insulate Britain is an environmental group focused on establishing government funds for improving insulation in Britain. The two funds being proposed are:
- 1. Insulate all British social housing by 2025.
- 2. Retrofit the insulation in all British homes by 2030.
The end goal for enforcing insulation in Britain is protection for the environment, financial savings, and an improved economy.
Insulate Britain protests began on September 13th 2021. Protesters are rallying on major roadways with signs being used as blockades. Traffic is being blocked in order to make a statement about the importance of insulation in fighting climate change.
While many green political groups and agencies support the protests, there are high consequences associated with protesting such as fines and jail time. As of yet, Insulate Britain’s proposals have not been answered by the British government.
